Key Messages

MRI (Aust) Pty Ltd. is a battery and e-waste recycling facility that had an EPA licence to operate at 1789-1791 Sydney Road Campbellfield.

Our officers have been inspecting the site for compliance with their licence regularly since 2019.

We attended a fire at the facility on 9 August 2020.

We were a support agency while the fire was burning. Our role at the site was to provide technical advice to Fire Rescue Victoria on:

• air quality
• firewater runoff.

Our officers have attended the site regularly since the fire. We are the lead agency working on recovery after the fire.
