EPA is committed to continually improving our environmental performance.

We do this through an environmental management system. This identifies, monitors and controls our environmental impact and the performance of: 

• our offices
• laboratory
• field-based operations.

Activities that we monitor include:

• our buildings, including energy and use, materials and waste management
• transport
• purchasing.

We have already improved our environmental performance and made significant milestones. We have been carbon neutral since 2005 and developed a framework to manage our own greenhouse gas emissions.
