EPA received a works approval application from Chunxing Corporation Pty Ltd. The application proposes development of a used lead acid battery recycling facility in Hazelwood North. 

The proposed facility, to be located at Crown Allotment 2047, Fourth Road, Hazelwood North, intends to operate 24 hours - 7 days per week with allowance for 30-40 days of maintenance per year.

The public submission period has now closed. EPA is holding a community conference on Tuesday 25 February to discuss public submissions about the application. 

Please note that no final decision regarding the works approval application will be made at the conference.
