The purpose of this policy is to ensure that remedial notices served by EPA Victoria under the Environment Protection Act 1970 are applied consistently, constructively and effectively. It defines what they are, why EPA uses them and when they are applied.

This policy is only relevant to notices issued under the Environment Protection Act 1970. Such notices remain legally valid for up to 2 years from 1 July 2021 under the Environment Protection Act 2017 notice transition arrangements unless revoked beforehand.
