- Background of offence
- On six occasions between 15 January 2023 and 9 February 2023 the accused deposited industrial waste at a place unauthorised to receive industrial waste, the Hancock Plantation Victoria (HVP). The accused used his airtasker profile to accept jobs to remove waste and would deposit it at HVP, unbeknown to the owners of the property.
HVP employees took photographs of waste on their property on 1 February 2023 and 8 February 2023. They then observed and took footage of the accused depositing industrial waste on 9 February 2023 and EPA employees attended on 22 February 2023.
The following waste was deposited on each occasion:
• A L-shaped couch for a fee of $140
• 40 bags of household rubbish for a fee of $155
• Construction waste including drywall timber, tiles, bathtub, toilet and appliances for a fee of $1000
• Construction waste for a fee of $600
• A grey couch for a fee of $109
• Construction waste including timber, PVC piping, corrugated metal, bricks, paint drums, plastic sheeting and astro turf.
The waste was ultimately removed at the expense of the landowners. - Date of court hearing

Court orders made
Terry Deir (the accused) ordered to pay costs in the amount of $5,722.00.
Convicted and a Community Correction Order for a period of 12 months is made against the offender.
The offender is required to attend the South Morang Justice Service Centre by 23 May 2024.
