Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA) is actively collaborating with industry organisations in a special program to ensure the state’s small and medium businesses can gain a better understanding of the new Environment Protection Act 2017.
“We are rolling out the Industry Partnership Program so industry bodies can help their members find out how the new Act affects them and what they need to do to be compliant,” said EPA’s Chief Executive Officer, Lee Miezis.
“Successful industry partners that met EPA’s training criteria are now training duty holders on the new laws and so far they have trained more than 1,000 businesses under the scheme,” said Mr Miezis.
“This is an excellent way to reach businesses who want to hear from their industry leaders about the new laws and to get their insights into what it means for them.”
The opportunity remains for Victorian businesses to take part in the training through one of the partners. If you would like more information on training sessions, please contact EPA’s Customer Contact Centre on 1300 372 842 (1300 EPA VIC) for details on your local industry partner.
